These postcards are coming out so pretty that I had to capture the process. The botanicals I painted the other day worked perfectly with the backgrounds - I was sure they wouldn’t. These were printed on deli-paper, which comes in packs of 500 and nearly disappear when glued down. This allows the beautiful pattern underneath to be visible behind the shape.
Because I’m creating 24 cards in groups of three, I developed a work-flow and made fast, intuitive decisions because consulting any part of my brain when creating is the fastest way to shut it down.
03.24.24 It’s been weeks but here are the finished cards. I’m pleased with how most of them came out. Three sets of 3 need more work, and since I recently printed a pile of new papers - there’s plenty to work with.
